Message from the President
Merry Christmas to everyone. We have so very much to be thankful for this year.
This year we have completed several community projects and are looking forward to some additional improvements next year. In particular, we will be replacing the liner in the pool. It has been damaged by vandalism the past couple of years and requires replacement in March. We are also considering a security system to help prevent abuse to our property.
Next Christmas, it has been suggested that we decorate our entrances for the holidays. We will need volunteers to make it happen. Let me know if you are willing to help.
Be sure to attend our annual homeowners’ association meeting. We look forward to talking with you there.
Annual Meeting
Our annual meeting will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 7:00 – 9:00 PM, at the First Christian Church, 201 N Bridge St, Smithville. We will be reporting on the 2006 budget, income and spending and presenting the 2007 budget.
Neighborhood Watch Program
Forming a Neighborhood Watch group is the first step for every community mobilizing against crime. We have had several incidences of crime in our neighborhood. Several homeowners have expressed a strong interest in starting a Neighborhood Watch program for Harborview. A formal presentation by Police Chief Ken Wilson will be given at our annual meeting on January 16. Visit the website for this organization for information (www.USAonwatch.org).
2006 Year in Review
•A new Shelter house was built for picnics and other gatherings. This is complete with a water source, charcoal grills and sidewalks.
•A new security access control system was installed at the pool.
•A Capital Fund was setup for major pool repairs and improvements.
Holiday Decorations Reminder
Please remove all holiday decorations and holiday lights after the holiday is over.
CHANGES ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ted Williams, has stepped forward to complete the term of Bill Davidson. Ted is the Covenant Compliance Director. Some of you will be contacted by him when things need to be corrected in our community. Please cooperate and give him a hand. This is an awesome responsibility and we should all try to make his job easier.
David Schaufler is our Treasurer. Our thanks to Bill Davidson for his hard work during the time he served on the board. He was very much appreciated.
TWO HARBORVIEW HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION BOARD POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE.
Norm Hutcheson and Dan Thompson have completed their 3 year terms on the board and are candidates for the open slots. If you would like to be on the board of directors and are in good standing with the Homeowners’ Association, notify one of the board members immediately.
WEBMASTER NEEDED!!!
We need someone in Harborview who has the talent and experience and is will to volunteer to fill this position. Our website (www.harborviewhoa.org) is a place to get important information about our community. Our thanks go out to our previous webmaster.
JUST A REMINDER
Covenants and Restrictions Section 14, says “Trash, garbage or other waste shall be kept in sanitary containers, in a clean and sanitary condition and housed and screened.”
This means “keep your garbage containers in your garage or out of sight”.
