HHOA Presidents Message
Dear neighbors, Merry Christmas. Sue and I are sitting around a fire, making Christmas cookies and watching Home Alone. We are getting a gentle bit of snow flurries in the air. I love days like today.
Looking back at 2007, we have continued to make improvements at Harborview. We have added trees near the pool area to give some division between the town homes area and the public area. We also added additional tables to our shelter house. And, to keep our swimming pool in good shape, we have replaced the liner. It was a very good year living in Harborview.
In preparation for the New Year at Harborview, The board is reviewing the 2007 expenses and analyzing what we will be doing next year. The new budget is being put together for 2008 and we have good news for everyone. Based on the New Year’s budget the board of directors establishes the annual dues for the following year. We have decided that it is possible to reduce the dues again this year to a low cost of $170, payable by January 31, 2008.
All of this will be reviewed at our Annual HHOA Meeting in January. I hope to see you there.
Neighborhood Watch
Our Neighborhood Watch organization has installed signs at the entrances of our neighborhood. They will be contacting all of us very soon with information about what we can be doing to make our neighborhood a safer place to live. To help with this project, contact Billie Harris at 873-0069.
HHOA Bylaws
The board will be implementing bylaws in 2008. These will be an official document that will guide the board in managing the day-to-day details of operating the association. As we develop procedures for different tasks, they will be incorporated into the by-laws for all future boards to use. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to improve our association.
Board Members needed
We have two positions on the board that will be open. We need volunteers to step up and take a turn at leadership. These are elected positions and will be voted on at our annual meeting. The board meets once a month and makes all the needed decisions for our community. For more information, contact Dan Thompson. We invite you to come and be a part of what is happening at Harborview.
HHOA Annual Meeting
Each year our annual meeting is held on the third Tuesday in January. This year it will be held at the Smithville First Christian Church, 201 Bridge St, Smithville. We will meet at 7pm on January 15.

This year, there will be two door prizes given at our annual meeting. The first prize will be a full payment of 2008 dues. The second prize will be one-half payment of 2008 dues. Every home will be allowed one entry. Only homeowners present at the time of the drawing will be qualified to win.
